About Patrick

Patrick Colbeck was elected through a grassroots effort to represent Michigan’s 7th State Senate District in 2010 and quickly earned his reputation for being a principled statesman and truly representing the people of Michigan. He is a consistent advocate of policies and solutions that benefit all Michigan citizens rather than the special interest groups that too often influence government policies with their pocket books.

  • Went beyond saying “no” to a tax hike for fixing roads by offering multiple solutions that wouldn’t raise taxes
  • Nationally recognized leader on free market health care solutions that truly lower costs and improve care
  • Vocal advocate for school choice and opponent of national Common Core standards
  • Strong advocate for life and the protection of ALL of our civil liberties
  • Proven advocate for our Military families driving massive improvements in state veteran services and serving as co-founder of the Freedom Center

Although it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to be a disciplined leader, Patrick Colbeck is exactly that. After graduating from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 1983, he went on to earn Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. He later graduated from the Life Sciences Department of the International Space University in Strasbourg, France. Included among his over 20 years of engineering and management work in a variety of industries, he has worked on systems for the International Space Station, instructed students at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s Space Camp, and owned his own small business.

Patrick and his wife of 21 years, Angie, live in Canton, MI and are members of Northridge Church in Plymouth, MI.
